Brand Copywriter

The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, creative brand copywriter to join our team part time, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. As a brand writer with DesignGood, you'll focus on creating distinctive brand language and website copy for our clients. You'll develop concepts and create content for a wide variety of client needs, while collaborating with designers, project managers and our creative director. In this position, you’ll report to our project manager, and receive feedback from our creative director and lead copywriter.

What You'll Do

  • Review and interpret client intake documents and conduct related research.
  • Translate client objectives into succinct foundational brand language, including brand names, clarifiers and brand positioning, following the DesignGood method. (Read more about foundational brand language here.)
  • Define and articulate brand personality, voice and tone, and carry it through brand copy.
  • Craft brand messaging for primary outreach channels, including but not limited to: websites, sales tools, pitch decks, lead magnets, email marketing campaigns
  • Iterate and edit copy in response to internal input and client feedback.
  • Provide strategic input on website planning and sitemaps.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers and the creative director. 
  • Communicate with clients and attend client calls as needed.

 Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a writer in a branding or marketing capacity with a diverse portfolio of work
  • A passion for writing and a commitment to crafting quality copy
  • Ability to take on diverse tones and styles and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice that appeals to target audiences
  • Confidence with grammar and copyediting, and familiarity with commonly used style guides
  • Ability to understand the needs of diverse clients, consumers and target audiences
  • Willingness to work across a number of projects simultaneously
  • Ability to follow established processes and meet defined deadlines 
  • Ability to proofread and edit your own copy
  • Strong understanding of how copy supports SEO goals
  • An understanding of design and how design and copy work together
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency working in the Google Workspace
