Important Vocabulary
DesignGood Business & Brand Method
Our proprietary three-phase process, developed over 20 years in business, is used with every DesignGood client to ensure a successful branding project and create a memorable, magnetic brand.
DesignGood Business & Brand Method Google Folder
This folder is our project collaboration hub. Bookmark and reference it during and after your project for all brand assets, worksheets, copywriting, and resources. Once your project is complete, we will add your brand assets to this folder for reference.
Business & Brand Discovery Session
This is your project kickoff call with Kristin. Together, you will discuss the answers to your discovery questions, clarify details, and provide an opportunity to share additional information before we start working on your project.
Foundation Brand Language
Your business's core clarifying language is what we use to capture your essence and help connect deeply with the clients who are the right fit for your work. It serves as your brand's inner voice and positioning so that your audience quickly knows they are in the right place.
Visual Identity
Your visual identity includes all the elements that define your brand's look and feel and make you memorable and stand out. It includes your logo, colors, fonts, styles, and photography treatments, creating a unique visual representation of your brand.
Brand & Language Style Guide
At the end of your project, you will receive a comprehensive guide documenting your brand's visual, foundational brand language, and all relevant assets for maintaining a consistent brand identity. This tool can be found in your DesignGood Business & Brand Method Google Folder.
Site Plan
We use this plan to map out the content, functionality, and technology included in your new website. Once approved, it guides the writing and design of your website and helps us determine any additional information that needs to be collected.
Content Gathering Worksheets
These worksheets gather additional information needed for your website and can be found in your DesignGood Business & Brand Method Google Folder. Our team will always inform you which worksheets you need to complete. They help collect content such as FAQs, testimonials, press, blog posts, team bios and photos, portfolio images, and descriptions.
Copywriting (or Copy)
Copywriting refers to all the written words and language used on your website and other project deliverables. We create all your brand copy based on the information you provide during your Business and brand Discovery, and all content must be approved before we move to design.
Website Design
During the website design step of your project, our team takes your new visual identity and website copy and transforms them into a unique, one-of-a-kind website experience for your audience. Unlike pre-designed templates, our custom designs reflect you and your brand's individuality. You will approve the designs before we move on to development.
Figma
Figma is the design program our team uses to create your website. It is also the platform you will use to review your webpage designs and leave feedback using a user-friendly commenting tool. You will receive instructions on creating a free account and provide feedback to our team.
Website Development
Once development is scheduled, the process of transforming approved website designs into a live, working website typically takes 7-14 days. This step is essential for launching your site, ensuring all features and functionalities are tested and operating smoothly. You will have a final review before the website goes live to make small refinements as needed.
Webflow
Webflow is the platform on which your new website is built. It acts as both the hosting service, where your website is stored and accessed, and the content management system (CMS), allowing you to manage and update your website's content easily.
Website Hosting
Website hosting is the service that houses your site online. If you have an existing website, we will transfer your hosting to Webflow for better performance. This service has a yearly fee, which DesignGood will bill you for annually.
Content Management System (CMS)
The Content Management System (CMS) is the backend of your website, allowing you to easily update content such as text, blog posts, press releases, and team member profiles. Webflow will be your CMS, providing you with a user-friendly interface to manage your site's content.
Website Launch
Launching is the process of making your website live online. During this step, we provide website training documentation to help you manage your new site. These documents will always be available in your DesignGood Business & Brand Method Google Folder.
Superflow
Once we finish developing your website, our team will install Superflow, a review and commenting tool, at an unpublished link to your new website so you can review your fully functioning website before we make it live.
Like Figma, you must set up a free account using your email to leave comments for our team.
Brand Momentum Session
After your website is live and you receive your website training documents, you will have a strategic session with Kristin in this final step of your Business and Brand Method. In this session, you'll plan your business's next steps and learn how to use and promote your new brand effectively.
Brand Toolkit
Your Brand Toolkit refers to the additional outreach tools you may have included in your DesignGood Business & Brand Method Package. To extend your brand's reach, these can be added at the start of your project or after your Brand Momentum Session. They include items such as social media branding, email marketing templates, podcast branding, digital or printed sales and marketing tools, lead magnets, signage, and business cards.
