How to Create an Effortless Social Media Experience

How to Create an Effortless Social Media Experience

When you visit a bricks-and-mortar store, you want your shopping experience to be seamless. If you have a bad experience or have to spend a lot of time trying to find what you want, you will most likely never return. It’s no different when you work to attract customers via your social media channels. To build an audience and drive sales, you have to make your social media experience effortless. Today we are sharing four ways to do just that.

1. Make your mission clear.

When someone visits your social media channels, it should be instantly clear to them who you are, what you offer and what you’re all about. You have one chance to grab their interest, so get to the point. Don’t make visitors hunt for essential information. On Twitter, you get 160 characters to describe your brand. On Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest, you can say more, but it still pays to be concise. You should be able to tell followers what your brand offers in the one sentence.

2. Always have a call to action.

Tell people what you want them to do. This is always the first thing to think about when building your social media marketing campaigns. What do you want to achieve? You can’t expect followers to see a post and assume that you want them to make a purchase on your website, download your app or sign up for your newsletter. Go ahead and make their next step clear.

3. Provide links in your call-to-action posts.

On Instagram, you will have to direct followers to the link in your profile. Unless you promote a post on Instagram, you cannot directly link the post. For Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, you can put the link directly in your post. If you use Pinterest, always link your images with a destination URL — the place you want followers to land when they click.

4. Create easy-to-understand posts.

You know how quickly you scroll through your own social feeds. Now picture your customers doing the same. Will your posts get their attention when they’re social skimming? Write to-the-point posts focused on your key messages. Use compelling imagery and even consider creating infographics to get your point across faster.
