Brand & Website Design for an Adoption-Informed Therapy Collective

Root & Return Wellness

Root & Return Wellness is a therapy collective in Connecticut founded by Rachel Forbes, LCSW, offering trauma-informed, integrative therapy to adults, couples, and families, with particular depth in adoption, attachment, and identity.

Rachel’s practice is built around adoption, identity, attachment, and the nervous system, and it serves adoptees, adoptive parents, and families, along with therapists and healing professionals looking for consultation and training. When she came to DesignGood, the vision was clear and the brand had not yet caught up to its depth, and she wanted language that sounded the way Root & Return feels in the room, spacious and relational, while supporting a practice built to grow.

We clarified her Brand Language and Positioning, named the collective, and designed the brand identity and website for a group practice that honors each clinician’s individuality and the support of a connected team. DesignGood handled brand and website design for this therapy practice, along with social media and Canva branding, so Root & Return could grow in Connecticut while staying rooted in Rachel’s values.

Who This Brand Was Built For

We build brands for therapists and group practice owners whose work comes from lived experience and a clear specialty, and who need a brand that lets that depth show up quickly. Root & Return’s brand had to speak to adoptees, adoptive parents, and families looking for adoption-informed, trauma-informed care in Connecticut, and to therapists and healing professionals seeking consultation and training, while giving each clinician on the team room to be an individual.

What Changed for Root & Return Wellness

Rachel Forbes came to DesignGood holding a clear vision for Root & Return Wellness, including a commitment to adoptee-informed care that grows from her own place in the adoption community. The practice was spacious, relational, and attuned in the room, and the language and structure around it had not yet caught up to that depth.

The risk was a brand that flattened what makes the practice distinct. A generic therapy site would have blurred adoption, attachment, and identity into a list of services, and a group practice needs each clinician to feel individual while the whole still reads as one connected team. Rachel asked for more than a surface refresh, and she wanted the growth of the practice supported at the same time.

We started with her words. Working through Brand Language and Positioning, we listened for how Rachel describes presence, belonging, and coming home to yourself, and we built the name, the positioning, the copy, and the identity from that language. The website we designed feels grounded and welcoming, makes room for each clinician, and gives adoptees, families, and fellow therapists a clear way to find the right support.

Rachel described the process as one of clarity, honesty, and expansiveness, and she now has a practice that reflects what feels authentic to her and to the team around her. Root & Return has a brand that carries its values into every page, and a foundation that lets the collective grow in Connecticut while staying rooted in presence and care.
