PetGiving began with something Day of the Dogs had already shown in Houston, that money collected up front for a shelter animal's care gives rescue groups the confidence to step in. The founder wanted to bring that approach to shelters across the country, and she asked DesignGood to create a website that would help rescue groups save shelter animals.
Existing tools did not fit the job. Crowdfunding sites focus on a one-time need, and Facebook offered no way to manage donors or move collected funds directly to rescue partners. A new platform had to explain itself to donors, rescue groups, and shelters at once, and it had to look established enough to earn a shelter's partnership.
We built the logo, visual identity, copywriting, and website around a simple path, browse animals in need, open an animal's profile, and give to that animal. We designed digital and social media assets, and wrote the How It Works steps in plain language. Then the founder was selected as a finalist in the national PetCo Innovation Showdown, with the logo, identity, and website already underway, so we created a video and built a presentation deck to tell the story in a few minutes.
Today PetGiving has a brand, a website, and pitch materials that carry the same message, and the live site walks visitors through how pre-funding works and the shelter and rescue partners it is built to serve. Our founder client shared that the team listened, understood her intentions, and loved animals as much as she does, which made the project one we were proud to be part of.
